Rancho Bernardo is one of the charming areas within the San Diego County. It is a community in the northeastern part of San Diego and is near Escondido, Poway and 4S Ranch.
Spending a day in Rancho Bernardo can be great especially for a wine enthusiast. The day can start with a private tour of the Bernardo Winery – the oldest winery in the area. In its official website, it mentioned its history specifically how its started its operations in 1889.
“Founded in 1889 on what was a Spanish Land Grant, five business partners opened the Winery. With the start of the prohibition, the wine business diminished dramatically. Vincent Rizzo, first generation Rizzo owner, had the forethought to buy the winery during the prohibition from the dwindling partnership and continue production of sacramental wine and grape juice guaranteed to ferment by the end of the road.”
